The MD5 Encypted Password Generator utility is a Windows utility that can be used to generate MD5 encrypted passwords compatible with VMware ESX Server.

The MD5 Encypted Password Generator utility is a Windows utility that can be used to generate MD5 encrypted passwords compatible with VMware ESX Server (tested to VMware ESX 3.5 Update 3). The passwords can be used when adding additional ESX host user accounts, or in your kickstart configuration scripts.  The utility uses a randomly generated SALT to ensure that your password is secure.

Unzip the generate_md5_encypted_hash.zip. Open a Windows command prompt and navigate to the folder where you placed the exe.  Use the following command to run the utility:

Usage:

generate_md5_encypted_hash.exe <password>

<password> is the plain text word to be encrypted.
