Cloud computing is the name for a method of computing where compute resource is provided over the Internet and this whitepaper aims to provide an overview of cloud computing, including components, methodology, benefits and pitfalls.

Cloud computing may be the name for a method of computing where compute resource is provided over the Internet but what's it all about?

Overview

Cloud computing is the name for a method of computing where compute resource is provided over the Internet. The resource can be dynamically scaled in-line with the customers demand. The term cloud refers to the Internet and is used to simplify the idea of the underlying infrastructure. Cloud computing customers do not need to know what physical infrastructure is providing their software and services. If demand increases and more resource is required (or less demand and less resource), allocated resource can be dynamically scaled by the service provider.

Key Concepts:

  • Overview of Cloud Computing
  • Components and Methodology
  • Benefits and Pitfalls
