What attracted you to Xtravirt

The reputation, have followed Xtravirt articles and blogs etc for many years.

 

What makes Xtravirt great

Teamwork and camaraderie, no one seems to have a huge ego, and everyone is approachable, and actually listens when you talk to them.

 

Functional or technical skills

I have had exposure to most VMware products on and off, have been using VMware virtualisation products since 2004. I have some experience with storage, and have worked on Nimble, Netapp, HP Lefthand and Datacore

 

What makes a great technical consultant?

The ability to work under pressure and with little supervision, sometimes isolated, but also the ability to know when you need to ask advice from a colleague etc

 

What’s your favourite part of your job?

Variety, and knowing I work with some of the best in their field.

Engineer, im a fully certified Toolmaker and CNC machinist, and have worked on Defence, Formula One and other motor racing projects.

 

First car?

Hobbies

Photography, mostly wildlife and aviation but will turn my hand to anything I feel like really, also mountain biking, but am very rusty on that now, but working on getting back into it

 

What was your first job?

I was an engineering apprentice, but did a paper round before that.
