Xtravirt has long been at the forefront of IT transformation and data centre virtualisation. Over the past two years, the company has taken a leading role in helping customers adopt private cloud and build secure cloud platforms, sovereign solutions and private AI capabilities, unlocking meaningful value across the UK and beyond. This momentum has driven strong, sustainable growth for the business, including significant expansion in 2025 and the addition of new managed services customers.
To support the next stage of growth and strengthen its commercial and service delivery capacity, Gavin Jolliffe, CEO, today announced the appointment of two senior leaders to the organisation.
Strengthening Leadership to Accelerate Customer Success
Chris Williams appointed as Sales Director
Xtravirt has appointed Chris Williams as Sales Director, bringing deep experience in sales leadership across professional services, telecommunications and security sectors. Williams has built and led high-performing teams in both medium and large-scale organisations, and his appointment expands the leadership and support Xtravirt provides to customers at every stage of their private cloud journey with VMware Cloud Foundation.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Chris to Xtravirt,” said Jolliffe. “His experience in shaping high-performing sales organisations and strengthening customer relationships supports exactly the direction we’re taking. Chris’s leadership will help us scale our presence in the market and enhance the outcomes we deliver for our customers.”
James Black appointed as Head of Xtravirt Managed Services (XMS)
Xtravirt has also appointed James Black as Head of XMS. Joining the company from Surrey and Sussex Police, Black brings deep experience in service management, security, operational leadership, and large-scale technology delivery – expertise that will push Xtravirt’s managed service capabilities forward as the company continues to lead in private cloud operations. “James’s appointment represents a significant strengthening of our managed services leadership,” commented Jolliffe. “His experience running large-scale IT operations and his strategic mindset will help advance our capabilities even further, ensuring we continue to deliver world-class managed services and operational excellence for our customers.”
In addition to these two new hires, Xtravirt has committed further investment to building strategic and value-creating partnerships with Broadcom and others in the private cloud ecosystem, with existing Management Team member Tash Benford, stepping in to the new role of Head of Alliance Partnerships.
“With an expanded team bringing deep expertise and strategic leadership, Xtravirt is set to accelerate its position as the leading partner for strategic advisory, expert deployment, and managed services in the VMware Cloud Foundation ecosystem. These appointments reflect the company’s continued investment in exceptional talent and its determination to set the standard for customer outcomes.“
Enabling More Services, More Expertise, More Value for Customers
Today, Xtravirt is positioned in the top tier of Broadcom Pinnacle Partners globally and holds more accredited VMware Cloud Foundation experts than any other partner in the UK.
These new leadership appointments come at a pivotal time for Xtravirt. As organisations increasingly turn to private cloud to meet regulatory, security and performance demands, Xtravirt is scaling its capabilities to meet that need.
- Deepened its strategic advisory capabilities – providing customers with a private cloud strategy aligned to their business priorities and clear pathways to value
- Expanded professional services capacity for private cloud transformation
- Strengthened managed services (XMS) operations
- Greater support for organisations adopting or optimising VMware Cloud Foundation
The bolstered leadership team will play a central role in accelerating service innovation, deepening customer engagement and ensuring that customers realise maximum value from their private cloud investments.
Xtravirt’s robust portfolio combined with extensive hands-on experience delivering complex VCF deployments positions the company as the trusted partner of choice for organisations seeking to reduce complexity, enhance security, increase operational efficiency and achieve predictable costs.
